2016 Mersey Valley Tour

The Mersey Valley Tour enters its 10^th year and continues its tradition as one of the toughest tours on the NRS calendar. The tour commences with a time trial event that provides cyclists with breathtaking views of Bass Strait as they follow a slight undulating course to Penguin and return.

Day two commences in Ulverstone with riders facing one of the toughest climbs in cycling; a gruelling climb out of Gunns Plains. This stage is interspersed with undulating climbs to Sprent before an exhilarating descent into Gunns Plains before the knockout blow is delivered as riders climb from Gunns Plains to the stage finish at Riana.

Day 3 stage starts in Sheffield with riders enjoying a fast descent into Railton before a flat stage to the Weegena Rd turn off. Riders face the arduous task of completing 2 laps of the Weegena loop; (men 3 laps) before the riders tackle the misleading and unforgiving climb to the top of Bridle Track; just when you think your near the finish there is more and more!
