Media Accreditation is restricted to professional journalists and photographers only.
The Media Event Pass and Media Access Pass are considered a working tool and are only to be used by working media members.
Under no circumstances will media accreditation be supplied to advertising and public relations companies and the like or representatives of sponsors, suppliers, engine suppliers, teams and drivers (this includes media managers and public relations officers). Supercars distribute two forms of Media Accreditation; Event-only Media Accreditation and Series Media Accreditation.
Series Media Accreditation
Series Media Accreditation is allocated to mainstream media and select motorsport media who are attending all, or most of, the V8 Supercars Championship events in the one season.
Series Media Accreditation is subject to the applicant holding a permanent position with a major metropolitan or national newspaper, magazine, television station, radio or endorsed website. Evidence of the applicant’s position is required in writing from the Editor (or similar).
Applicants granted with Series Media Accreditation are required to lodge a headshot.
In some cases media will be required to provide examples of work / published content.
Freelance Media will only be granted Series Media Accreditation if an approved outlet contacts Supercars directly and independently via letter or email to verify the applicant’s authenticity. These media will be required to be working for a major metropolitan newspaper, magazine or designated website and then produce their work once published or aired.
Event-Only Media Accreditation
Event-Only Media Accreditation will be granted for media only attending select Supercars Championship events. Additionally, Event-Only Media Accreditation will be assessed on the merit by the relevant Event promoter with the final approval by V8 Supercars.
For Event-Only Media Accreditation, priority is given to publications intending to publish a report specifically related to the event which accreditation has been requested.
Event only passes can also be allocated to general news, specialist, business and lifestyle consumer publications who do not intend to publish conventional race reports, but the coverage is considered to be of editorial benefit to Supercars.
In most circumstances a maximum of two representatives (journalist / photographer) per publication may be accredited for any one round of the V8 Supercars Championship.
The V8 Supercars Media Accreditation Terms & Conditions include (but are not limited to) the provision that any stories produced and / or still photographic images taken at each circuit will be used for MEDIA PURPOSES only and not for COMMERCIAL USE. Any applicant who wishes to undertake any commercial venture must obtain prior approval in writing from V8 Supercars. If at any stage V8 Supercars suspects that photographic images are being sold for commercial purposes, your accreditation may be revoked without notice.
A letter written on the company letterhead of the Media Organisation or Publication which you represent, signed by the Editor (or similar) confirming your employment / contract with that Media Organisation or Publication.
Please note that lodgement of this application does not mean your application has been approved.
