Course Description:

This tour of Sydney harbour takes in some of the best views of the City and outer harbour, visiting North Head in Manly, Chowder Bay and Taronga Zoo.  We start in Concord West and head north towards Lane Cove on quiet roads and cyclepaths. The route then winds through Chatswood and Cammeray to the Spit bridge, up through Seaforth and Balgowlah to Manly and North Head.  We then return to Spit, and head for Middle Head road on back streets, down to Chowder Bay, back up the hill then down to Taronga Zoo and back up to Mosman.  We then again take the back route to Kirribilli, avoiding Military Road, across the Harbour Bridge on the cyclepath and back through the City to Pyrmont, Anzac Bridge and Lilyfield to return to Concord West.  We finish with a loop of the Olympic Park just to make us feel extra-sporty!

This is a lovely ride, but its also hilly - around 1500m of climbing - and because there's a lot of cyclepath its quite slow in the first part. Expect an average speed of 21-23km/h and for the ride to take around 5-6 hours."
