2017 Cycling Queensland School Holiday Track Cycling Programs

Would you like to try something different these school holidays?

Cycling Queensland's School Holiday Programs could be just for you!

 

Cycling Queensland's School Holiday Programs provide a fun, safe off-road environment for children in Year 7 and above to come and try track cycling at the new Anna Meares Velodrome, the home of track cycling for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games!

The program is run over two days and will comprise of a variety of fun and engaging cycling games and an introduction to riding on a track. Sessions are conducted by accredited Cycling Queensland coaches, who are experienced in working with school age children. All coaches have first aid accreditations and Working with Children Blue Cards.

Track cycling is a fantastic and exciting sport which is a major part of Commonwealth and Olympic Games!

The aim of these programs is to provide high school age children the opportunity to try track cycling and give something different and fun a go in school holidays.

 

Details

Cost: $99 per program, per participant.

Includes:

  • hire of a track specific bicycle
  • Official 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Merchandise
  • coaching from accredited Cycling Queensland coaches

Where: Anna Meares Velodrome, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler (Home of Track Cycling for the 2018 Commonwealth Games!)

Program Dates Session Times
Monday 11th December - Tuesday 12th December 9am - 12pm

 

What to bring: 

  • Closed in shoes / sneakers
  • Tighter fitting clothing (no singlets) 
  • Water bottle and small hand towel
  • Snack food
  • Cycling Helmet (By law you are required to wear a helmet at all times on a bike, the helmet must have the Australian Standard sticker AS/NZS 2063 in tact or you will not be able to wear that helmet)

Optional:

  • Own track cycling bike
