2018 BASEBALL WA STATE 16's and 18's Tryouts

Baseball WA is hosting it's 2018 National Youth Under 16 & Under 18 State Team Tryouts at

Wanneroo Baseball Club (Kingsway Reserve) Wednesday 6th September @ 5:00 - 7:30pm (arrive as soon as possible)

&

South Perth Baseball Club (Grayden Reserve) Sunday 10th Sept 1pm - 3:30pm

*Please note, you only need to REGISTER and ATTEND 1 of these sessions

Players are then expected to attend the following trials; 

Under 18's - Coach Mark Pettit

Sept 14th Thurs         BP - 5:30 - 8:00pm

Sept 17th Mon           Crimea Reserve - 1:30-4:00pm

Sept 21st  Thurs        BP - 5:00-8:00pm (MANDATORY PLAYER/PARENT BRIEFING 5:15pm)

Sept 25th Mon           BP - 5:30-8:00pm

Under 16's - Coach Rod Drew

Sept 20th Wed      BP 5:15pm to 7.45pm (MANDATORY PLAYER/PARENT BRIEFING 5pm)

Sept 24th Sun      BP 1pm to 3.30pm

Sept 27th Wed     BP 9.30am to 12noon

Sept 28th Thurs   BP 9.30am to 12noon

Sept 29th Fri       BP 9.30am to 12noon

A squad will be announced after the 29th of September. Trials will resume after school holidays for those in the squad starting on Monday 9th of October at Baseball Park. Time will be 5pm to 7.30

CALL FOR STATE TEAM ASSISTANT COACHES AND Executive Officer

Baseball WA would also like to call for applications for State Team Assistant Coaches. All positions are vacated and open for appointment.

State Under 18's Assistant Coach and Executive Officer

State Under 16's Assistant Coach and Executive Officer

Please provide your expression of interest outlining your baseball experience and resume and confirm or address your understanding of the following expectations;

  • Hold at minimum a current Level 3 Coaching Accreditation or equivalency.
  • Assisting the Head Coach to execute all State Team training programs for all athletes;
  • In consultation with the assistant coaches, co-ordinate training and pre / post game preparations;
  • Co-ordinate coaching / support team. Monitor / evaluate game, individual player, team, coaching staff outcomes.
  • Responsible for disciplinary action for on field misconduct of coaching staff and players report serious matters to Baseball WA.
  • Compliance with general rules of conduct at the National Championships.
  • Enforce the Baseball Australia and Baseball WA Player Code of Conduct and adhere to the Baseball Australia Coaches / Managers Code of Conduct.
  • Present yourself and the team in a professional and positive image at all times.

Selection Process

  • Ensure registered into HP Coaching Pool with involvement in either WA Performance Institute, MLBAAP or Winter Program.
  • Applications for Assistant Coach Positions will be called by August 11th for following NYC.
  • Baseball WA/Perth Heat High Performance Committee (BWA/PHHPC) will review all applications and appoint with additional input from HPM.
  • Assistant Coach Appointment announced to WA members.
  • A post-tournament review of National Championships and all coaches and staff will be conducted post tournament.
