Information for course participants Beginners' courses are for those wanting to become archers and who have the desire to learn good technique and shoot well. The course is run on two consecutive mornings over one weekend. I.e. Saturday morning and Sunday morning, starting at 8:00am and concluding no later than 11am on each day. Please arrive no later than 7:45am so the course can begin on time. On each day there will be a number of short lessons explaining equipment, techniques and safety. These will be followed by supervised practice. Before completion of the course you will compete in the mars bar shootout. The course is led by qualified coaches and instructors approved by the South Queensland Archery Society (SQAS). The course fee covers equipment hire, access to the venue, insurance and sufficient coaches and instructors to keep participants safe and the course moving along. It also includes two return visits to the Club on a Saturday to take part in Club activities including a further hour of group coaching and participation in the afternoon Club shoot. A shoot fee and equipment hire fee is charged for each of these visits.
On successful completion of the course you will be presented a participation certificate which enables you to join our club. The Beginners’ Course is conducted in our 30m x 30m indoor facility so the course runs in all weather conditions.
