The Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach RPL is for coaches who are already able to meet and demonstrate the expected competencies below:


2-ICC-1: Monitor and adapt the training environment to ensure inclusive, enjoyable, challenging, and safe activity for athletes who have established the fundamental skills in running, jumping, and throwing.

2-ICC-2: Evaluate and identify appropriate activities in accordance with the physical, emotional, and social maturation of the athletes in their program. 

2-ICC-3: Vary training activities to maintain a stimulating and engaging training environment. 

2-ICC-4: Provide suitable feedback on performance to groups and individuals during a training session. 

2-ICC-5: Communicate effectively and appropriately in group and individual situations. 

2-ICC-6: Use appropriate methods, drills and activities to instruct appropriate technical models to athletes in all of the following event groups: Sprints, Block Starts, Relays, Sprint Hurdles, Middle Distance, Long Distance, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin, and Race Walking.

2-ICC-7: Plan and evaluate a training session and make appropriate adjustments for subsequent sessions. 

2-ICC-8: Plan and implement a variety of activities that will develop the components of fitness into training sessions. 



Components to Complete (Primary competencies demonstrated for each component): 

1) Coaching Declaration Form (New Coaches Only*- Complete and submit all required details and acknowledge and agree to abide by the coaching declarations. 

2) Community Coaching General Principles (New Coaches Only*- Complete the Australian Sports Commission online course.

3) PBTR - Child Protection Module (New Coaches Only*- Complete the module online.
(1-CAC -1, 1-CAC-10)

4) PBTR - Harassment and Discrimination Module - Complete the module online.
(2-ICC-1, 2-ICC-5)

5) Session Plan Assignment - Design a session for two (2) of the four prescribed scenarios, ensuring that each session is designed for different event groups
(2-ICC-2, 2-ICC-3, 2-ICC-6, 2-ICC-8)

6) Session Evaluation and Adjustment - Review a Long Jump session and offer suggested improvements.

7) Online Modules - Complete the Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach Online Modules.
(2-ICC-2, 2-ICC-6, 2-ICC-8)

8) Practical Assessment Tool - Conduct a session to be observed by an approved assessor.
(2-ICC-4, 2-ICC-5)

9) Level 1 and 2 Review Quiz - Achieve a minimum score of 12/15 on the multi-choice review of Level 1 and 2 content.
(All Level 1 and 2 Competencies tested - questions randomly selected)


*Coaches who hold Level 1 Community Athletics Coach accreditation are exempt from these requirements.


Cost: $176 ($88 for Accredited Athletics Coaches)

Refund: The registration fee is non-refundable once you have submitted components of the RPL for assessment. 

Expected time to Complete: 1.5 Hours

You must be a minimum of 21 years old to apply for RPL.
