  1. All competitors must be a minimum of Orange Belt or above or equivalent per Judo NSW Inc Sporting Code. 
  2. All competitors must be current financial members of the Judo NSW. or any Judo Australia (JA) member state, or IJF recognized National Federation. Evidence to be provided at the weigh-in. 
  3. JA and or IJF affiliated National Federation Registration Books or Cards MUST be present and filled out correctly. Competitors may be prevented from competing if the organizers cannot verify current financial IJF affiliated Membership registration. 
  4. All overseas competitors will be required to present passports at the official weigh-in for proof of identity and age. Proof of current membership and grade must also be provided. 
  5. The Tournament Director reserves the right to abandon or amalgamate any weight divisions where sufficient members are not present – coaches will be consulted. 
  6. The 2019 Anytime Fitness Sydney International will be played under IJF rules
  7. A White & Blue Judogi must be supplied and worn by ALL competitors in all age categories including Junior Girls/Boys and Senior Girls/Boys. 
  8. The athlete's anticipated weight category should be indicated at the time of registration for the tournament.  Athlete changes to weight categories can be made at the weigh-in.
  9. Tournament Entry Fees are non refundable.

Medal Presentations and Points 

  1. All medallists will be required to wear a WHITE judogi for all presentations. 
  2. Points will be awarded as per the Judo Australia National Points Ranking system, the tournament is in Category H. 
  3. Players must win a minimum of 1 fight, not by forfeit to receive a medal

  3.  Junior Boys/Girls (U12s) and Senior Boys/Girls (U15s) Categories (ONLY) have the following additional weigh-in location options:

  6. Junior Boys/Girls (U12s) and Senior Boys/Girls (U15s) regional based athletes can either weigh-in at a regional weigh-in venue or opt to weigh-in at the Sydney weigh-in venue.  All Sydney based Junior Boys/Girls (U12s) and Senior Boys/Girls (U15s) athletes must attend the Sydney weigh-in unless they have sought and gained prior approval from tournament organisers.

  7. Random weight checks with the same rules as the official weigh-in may be organised by tournament management before the first fights in the morning of the competition.  The weight of the athlete cannot be more than 5% higher (without judogi) than the official maximum weight limit of the category.

Competition Draws and Seeding 

  1. Competition Draws will take place immediately after the closure of the Weigh-in as per the attached timetable.  Seeding of the draws for the 2019 Sydney International Senior Men/Women, Junior Men/Women and Cadets will be as follows:

    3. Non – Australian players will be seeded at the discretion of the Tournament Management Team.
  2. Junior Boys/Girls (U12s) and Senior Boys/Girls (U15s) divisions will be seeded at the discretion of the Tournament Management Team. 

Coaches Information

  1. Only pre-registered coaches will be able to access the matside coaching area.
  2. This Tournament will follow the JA Sporting Code (click here) especially Attachment 8 (click here) outlining the behaviour and dress code.
  3. All Coaches are must wear appropriate clothing when coaching matside and to be aware that the event is being video streamed 'live'.
  4. Judo NSW adheres to and supports the ASC 'Play by the Rules' Code of Conduct (click here) and will not accept poor behaviour from athletes and or coaches towards other players and officials.
