Northern Region Junior Surf Interclub Carnival #2

Saturday 12th January 2019 - Ruakaka Beach

Northern Region Junior Surf inter-club carnival #2 will be held at Ruakaka on Saturday 12th January 2019. This is a participation carnival. Finals will not be run.

RUAKAKA 'fun' CARNIVAL 12th January at Ruakaka Beach

Events: Beach Sprint; Beach Relay; Surf Race; Board Race; Diamond Race.

(7yrs & non-badged 8yrs will replace Run-Swim-Run with Run-Wade-Run & Board events will be on boogie boards)

Entry fee: $11.00        Entries Close: 10th December 2018

NO late entries or refunds given

NOTE: It is expected that members wanting to take part in the Northern Region or Oceans (National Championships) this season have either attended a carnival (Orewa or/and Ruakaka) or the additional week day surf training before taking part in a championship event. For Regionals, a prerequisite is attending Northern Region Champs.

WAIPU TRAINING CAMP information

9 – 11 January: Assemble and sign in at Waipu Cove Surf Club:

These sessions will be mainly in the sea getting use to the different conditions.

9.15am sign in (training from 9.30am for 1.5 – 2 hours)

1.45pm sign in (training from 2pm for 1.5 – 2 hours)

Assistance required with coaching/managing/water safety.  No charge for training. 

Essential equipment – club togs, club beanie and pink vest

Payment can be made online using the "submit and pay" option when you register.

We need lifeguards and officials from our club to support the event, please indicate on the entry where you can assist.

The final programme will be influenced by the weather conditions of the day. The Event Management Committee may alter competition courses in order to address safety or to account for tidal, sea and beach condition changes. As far as possible they will undertake to provide all participants with fair and equal conditions.
