2020 ARCHERY SA State Matchplay Event

The Board has determined this event will be a Non-Elimination Matchplay, to promote maximum participation. The Ranking Round would be an Archery Australia Registered QRE... if COVID-19 hadn't stuck its oar in.

Divisions available:

  • Recurve
  • Barebow Recurve (new for 2020)
  • Compound
  • Barebow Compound (new for 2020)
  • Longbow
  • Target crossbow

Format: (provisional)

  • 72 arrow qualifying round according to the AA recognised QRE rounds
  • Matchplay according to the AA Non-Elimination Matchplay Policy
  • It will be an open event (i.e. Intermediate, Cadet, 20&Under, Master, Veteran, VeteranPlus are welcome to enter, but they would all compete in the open category at open distances & target faces)
  • There will 4, 8, 16 or 32 archers for each category in the matchplay series
  • Genders will be combined if there are less than 8 entrants of each gender for a given Division (bow type)
  • Finals (Gold and Bronze medal matches) will NOT use alternate shooting
  • Shooting will be as usual for matchplay; two-minute ends of 3 arrows
  • Compound archers will shoot 5 ends at 50 metres on an 80 cm (6 rings) face with the total score deciding the winner
  • Recurve archers will shoot up to 5 ends at 70 metres on a 122 cm face using “set” scoring, first to 6 points deciding the winner
  • Barebow and Longbow archers will shoot up to 5 ends at 50 metres on a 122 cm face using “set” scoring, first to 6 points deciding the winner
  • Target crossbow arbalists will shoot 5 ends at 50 metres on an 60 cm face with the total score deciding the winner
  • Tied scores will result in one-arrow shoot-offs

09:30 start of official practice (20 minutes)
10:00 First scoring end (ranking round)
11:30 Lunch
12:15 Practice (3 ends)
12:30 Start matchplay rounds
*13:30 or 14:00 Semi-final matches (and other matches)
*14:00 or 14:30 Medal matches (and other matches)
*14:30 or 15:00 Pack up
*15:00 or 15:30 Presentations
