Caulfield Little Aths is about family, fun and fitness. To run a successful program, the centre needs the support and involvement of parents in voluntary roles. Parent volunteers ensure the success of our Centre both on and off track. This can be through assisting to measure, record and coach our children or supporting the running of the organisation or event in an off track role.  At athletics these voluntary roles are called duty.

There are 3 types of duty roles – Key Officials, Age Group Teams and Coordinators, & Event Support.  It is the obligation of all families registering at Caulfield to nominate for a duty role and perform that role when required.

Duty frequency and commitment levels vary by role type with key officials being highly involved, age group teams and coordinators with lower involvement but playing a role at each competition and event support roles being part of a roster that rotates through the season and having the lowest involvement. 

Your duty obligation is only active when your child is competing at a meet.  If your child is not present (injured or on holiday) then your duty obligation is not active and your role will be performed by others.  If you select an event support role then you will be part of a roster and frequency of duty will be an hour or two on competition day every second or third event.  People in key officials roles or age group teams and coordinators will have an active role whenever your child is competing, the length of time required will depend on the meet requirements and number of volunteers present.

Parents of U6 On Track athletes are not required to nominate for duty when your U6 child is the only member of the family registered.
