The club will be invoiced for the fee and payment is required with 7 days of close of registrations to confirm the nomination.

Archery Level 1 Coach Course Nominations by Clubs

25 June at MPB Belmont

This course is for archers that the club is nominating to attend the L1 course

Date/Time:  Saturday 9 am to 4 pm

Location:      MPB - Belmont

Course Fee: $50 which the club will be invoiced for

Closing Date: 28 May 2022

Places are limited so please apply early - late registrations shall not be accepted.

Preamble:

Archery Australia have reviewed their coaching framework and introduced new courses and qualifications. The new qualifications will be designated as Level 1 Coach and Level 2 Coach etc. AA is describing L1 coaches as Participation Coaches, L2 as Development Coaches and L3 as Pathways Coaches. All existing Archery Instructors will remain accredited until 31 December 2022 as L1 coaches, but will be required to do a transition course in 2022 to extend there accredition beyond 31 December 2022. During 2022 SQAS plans to offer reaccreditation courses for these transitioned L1 and L2 coaches so that they can renew their accreditation for the next 3 year accreditation period.

However this course is for training new L1 Coaches.

Prerequisites:

Nominations may only be made by an authorised club official. Those nominated must be a current financial member of AA and have been so for the last 12 months, and must be at least 16 years of age. 

Advisable but not compulsory additional desirable competencies are - to hold a current First Aid certificate, complete the Sports Australia Community Coaching General Principles, and Play by the Rules Inclusive Coaching course.

They must undertake pre-reading/study and complete a work book which they must bring to the course for assessment by the presenter/assessor.

Prior to the course they must have assisted with a minimum of 2 Come and Try sessions or equivalent club based training sessions. A Working with Children clearance which in Queensland is a “Blue Card” will also be required.

Course:

1 days of course work with practical components and assessment.

Covid:

Covid precautions must be adhered to by participants.

Reimbursement:

When a participant has completed the course requirements and received accreditation, on application SQAS will refund the $50.00 fee to the club. Subject to availability of funds participants may also be reimburse limited travel costs. All claims must be received within 21 days after the course date. 

BYO LUNCH – Participants will need to bring their own lunch or there are food outlets a short drive from the venue.
