2023 National & SQAS Indoor Championships

The 2023 National Indoor Championships will be conducted in conjunction with the SQAS Indoor Championships.

ROUNDS: 

Double Australian Indoor Round 18m (Vegas style) (2 x 30 arrow rounds)

Single World Archery Indoor 18m round (60 arrows)

 

The tournament will shot with two sessions of 60 arrows

being shot across two days (one each day) by each archer

with the Double Archery Australia Indoor Round shot first.

Refer to the tables below for the time you will shoot each

day for your division.
 

Entry numbers will determine the number of flights & if A/B rotations are required.

CLASSES:

Under 14   anyone born in the year 2010 or younger
Under 16   anyone born in the years 2008 or 2009
Under 18   anyone born in the years 2006 or 2007
Under 21   anyone born in the years 2003, 2004 or 2005
Open          anyone born in 1974 to 2002 inclusive
50+             anyone born in the years 1964 to 1973
60+             anyone born in 1954 to 1963 inclusive
70+             anyone born in or before 1953

 

All Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 21 archers may elect to compete in a higher class, up to and including Open, by entering in the higher class, paying the appropriate fee and shooting the round for that class.
All 50+, 60+ and 70+ archers may elect to compete in a lower class, down to and including Open, by entering in the lower class and shooting the round for that class.

 

PARA and VI CLASSES:

Para Open, Para W1 & VI
VI archers - both male and female will compete within the same relevant division.
Para W1 archers - Depending on entries AA may combine Male W1 and Female W1.

 

NON-ARCHERY AUSTRALIA CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES:

Archery Alliance members and non-Archery Australia members can only enter into Archery

Australia categories and Archery Australia rules will apply.

 

DIVISIONS:

Compound, Recurve, Longbow, Barebow Compound, Barebow Recurve

 

TARGET FACES:

When entering the event, archers must nominate the target face required for each round, as per entry details.

WA Indoor 18m                    3 spot vertical OR 40cm single

 

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT:

Payment is by credit card or Paypal.

 

ENTRIES WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS WINNERS:

Archery Australia

For the individual event Archery Australia Indoor Championship Medals will be awarded.

For non-Archery Australia members an Archery Australia Visitors medal will be awarded.

 

SQAS

Championships winners will be decided on the combined score from both rounds.

For non-SQAS members an SQAS Visitors medal will be awarded.

 

TEAMS EVENT:

 

Open Championship Teams Event

The Open Team Championships will be contested in the following categories: 

·        Youth: Recurve and Compound

·        Open: Recurve, Compound and Barebow (Barebow Recurve, Barebow Compound and Longbow)

·        50+/60+/70+: Recurve, Compound and Barebow (Barebow Recurve, Barebow Compound and Longbow)

 

Team members may be both Archery Australia and non-Archery Australia members.

There is no limit to the number of teams able to be entered in each category. 

Team entries must be submitted to Archery Australia no later than by 8pm local time on 17th June 2023.

Archery Australia has provided the following online entry form for Open Teams to enter their team details.

Changes to Open Teams can be made up until midnight 4th July 2023 by sending an email to info@archery.org.au

A person can only enter once into a team for each category

Archery Australia Championships medals will be awarded in each category. For non-Archery Australia members an Archery Australia Visitors medal will be awarded.

Each team must provide an address where medals can be sent following the championships

Team requirements:

 

·        There will be three (3) members in a team

·        Teams can be mixed gender

·        A team name must be submitted at the time of entry

·        Team members can be from the same or different RGBs, associations or countries.

·        An athlete may not compete in more than one (1) team unless entered more than once in the Championships event and in different categories. (e.g. an eligible archer may choose to shoot both as an Open and as a Under 21, so will shoot 240 arrows over the weekend and pay two entry fees).

·        Note that the RGB team event is considered to be a completely separate event.

·        All members of a team will shoot the same bow type – either recurve, compound or bare bow (barebow recurve, barebow compound and longbow)

·        Team members must be shooting in the age division compatible with their team entry

o   Youth - all team members to be Under 21 or younger and in category entered in event

o   Open – archers from any of the 7 age divisions may be in this team

o   50+/60+/70+ - all team members to be 50+, 60+ or 70+ in age and in category entered in event.

·        Team winners will be decided on the aggregate of the 3 team members’ scores over the 2 rounds (120 arrows/archer)

·        Archery Australia National Championship or Visitors gold medals for any given category will only be awarded if there are at least 3 teams entered in that category.      

 

NOTE – As both team events are online events, any changes to team members can be made up until 4th July 2023 to info@archery.org.au . However, the Team Name MUST be registered before the 17th June 2023.
Any changes made after the above date and time will not be accepted and only those names listed by the above date (4th July 2023) will be accepted.

 

Any changes made after the start of shooting will not be accepted and only those names listed by shooting time will be used.

 

AA ALL GOLD AND PERFECT 10 MEDALS:

As this event is the National Championships, all competitors may purchase the above (gold background) medals in line with AA Rules. Only AA members can purchase WA awards. Claim forms are to be completed on the day. As this event is also the SQAS Championships, silver background medals may also be purchased.

 

NOTES:

As electronic scoring via Archers Diary will be available for this event, all archers are responsible for ensuring your scores are entered into Archers Diary at the completion of the event. Score sheets must be submitted to the Organising Committee within 30 minutes of the end of a flight or the score sheet will not be accepted.

 

This tournament will be shot under World Archery, Archery Australia and SQAS rules and policies.

 

Covid 19 precautions will be required to be followed. Additional information will be provided to archers prior to the event.

 

Please advise the organisers if you have any issues with photos being taken by the official photographer.

 

Competitors are to ensure that you bring your current AA membership card with you as you may not participate without proof of current membership.

 

Drinks, chocolates, chips, water etc. will be available from the canteen. Lunch will NOT be available. There are several take-away outlets a short drive away.
