Beginners Course - August 2023

Beginners Course:

Coast Archers is hosting an introduction to the sport of archery for aspiring members.  The Beginners Course will run weekly on Saturday afternoon over three consecutive weeks.  You will be taught the basics of archery using a recurve bow.  Participants may also be given the opportunity to shoot a compound bow or a longbow.  All equipment is supplied.  At the end of the course, you will have the option of joining the archery club. 

Please ensure you wear covered in shoes and a hat. 

Minimum age is 10.  Children less than 10 years of age may be considered, but will need to book to undergo an assessment on a Saturday afternoon at least 1 week prior to the Beginners Course.  Children need to be physically capable of using the equipment and able to follow instruction. 

If you just want to have a go at archery and shoot a few arrows to see if you like archery, consider our one day "Come and Try" sessions which are run on alternate months. 

Dates:

Week 1 - Saturday 19th August
Week 2 - Saturday 26th August
Week 3 - Saturday 2nd September

Registration:       12:30pm
Commencement: 1:00pm
Completion:        3:30pm

The Beginners Course goes ahead rain, hail or shine. 
If the course is postponed for any reason, you will be informed in advance.   

Cost:

$80 for the first person in a family, $40 for subsequent family members (plus processing fee).

Location:

Coast Archer's Field, 18 Ilya Avenue, Erina  (behind Erina Rugby Leagues Club)

Note toilets at Erina Leagues Club are only available after 10:00am.  Toilet facilities are available at the nearby Fountain Plaza Shopping Centre.

Registration:

Participants must be pre-registered and must sign-in on arrival.  

Please Note:

Archery can be a dangerous sport if safety rules are not adhered to.  The organisers reserve the right to exclude participants if necessary for their safety, or for the safety of others.

There is a possibility that the Club will be moving to another venue this year.  Consequently, there is no guarantee that prospective members will be able to practice archery at Coast Archers Erina on a long term basis.
