BEGINNERS TRAINING COURSE

Our beginners course is an 3 week program (3x3 = 9 hours) for anyone aged 10 and over, (mainly due strength to pull back bow, please send email if you want to visit club to check requirements) conducted at our Archery Road ground.

The course covers all aspects of learning to use a recurve bow, safety and archer’s etiquette.

Course places are limited to 14 and fill quickly so early bookings are essential.

 CLOTHING

• Closed in shoes must be worn – thongs and sandals are NOT permitted recommendation is sneakers or equivalent
• A Hat is recommended - baseball cap or soft brim hat. 
• No loose clothing, recommend t shirt - polotop , for cooler weather non bulky long sleeves
• Water Bottle & Snack (or 2), sun block, (insect repellent)

 MINORS must have a parent or guardian present during training

COURSE DETAILS:

Courses are held on Saturday's for 3 weeks. 1 pm until 4 pm at Archery road near Tanunda (right at the end - beware of last steep slope)

Cost is $100.00 per person

You may be eligible for a Sports Voucher.  In 2023, eligible children will have a year of birth from 2007 to 2017. Please fill out the form at

The cost of course covers equipment hire (recurve bow, arrows, quiver and safety equipment) and insurance.

Barossa Archery Club is a registered provider for the Government of South Australia Sports Vouchers program.

ON COMPLETION OF COURSE:

On successful completion of the beginner course you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion that will enable you to apply for membership to our club.

• All applications for new membership to BAC must be approved by the Committee, as per Section 5.2 of the BAC Constitution
• Successful applicants will be provided with a club uniform shirt at a reduced cost of $15

It also entitles you to:

• 2 months insurance for shooting after the course whilst you decide if you want to join.
•  $5 shoots in this period, while you make up your mind if it 'is for you'
