2014 Junior Umpire Development Pathway

JUNIOR UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY
24 & 25 MAY - JUNIOR COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS (JCC) & 1 – 4 JULY - U13, U15 & U17 JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (JSC)

The 2014 Junior Umpire Development Pathway is open for registrations.

In 2013 fifteen umpires from Victoria were selected across the nine under age National Tournaments (indoor and outdoor) to go away and officiate. Four of these nine umpires were/have been a part of this Junior Umpire Development Pathway since it was opened in 2012. With an increase of teams that participate at the U13, U15 & U18 National Tournaments Hockey Victoria expects to see a lot more umpires who have come through the pathway nominated & selected for these tournaments in 2014.

Hockey Victoria's umpire Pathway equips umpires with the skills needed to umpire at the top levels via providing the opportunity to actively umpire at different competitions & events and receive feedback regarding their performance. The pathway has been planned & designed to allow for appropriate timeframes so umpires can receive coaching, feedback, mentoring, & assessments all year round. This was made possible with the inclusion of the Zone Challenge into the Pathway. Umpires now have the ability to enhance their umpiring skills and build confidence later in a given year for the best chance to receive National nomination the following year.

Umpires will be supported through the pathway by Hockey Victoria, Hockey Victoria's Officiating Committee (HVOC) & Premier League umpires. This support includes continues feedback, mentoring & also assessments to gain HockeyEd Umpire accreditations.
